Is the Sony KDS-R60XBR1 HDCP compliant?
I own the 50" version of this Sony TV and I love it. Wondering if it is HDCP compliant for the playstation 3. Anybody hear that the PS3 can't output a 1080i signal, saw that on ign.com?
Looked into the deal a little more, the manual for the PS3 says 1080i, but there is a lot of talk in the forums if you tv only supports 480i, 480p, and 1080i then it will downgrade your game to 480p. PS3 supposedly does not have a scaler.
If this model has an HDMI input then the answer is yes. All HDMI inputs are HDCP compliant.
The PS3 cannot output 1080i {Interlace} signals., only 480p, 720p and 1080p {Progressive}. Since your HDTV is not 1080p, The PS3 will downgrade the signal to 720p.
