How do i record from my set top box?
I have connected an aerial cable from the wall to the VCR, then another aerial cable from the VCR to the set top box, then another aerial cable from the set top box to the TV. I was told all i had to do was tune the set top box into the TV and then i could record. However, when i tried manual searching on my TV, it could not find the signal from the set top box. What am i doing wrong?
You should have the aerial from the antenna going into the set top (converter) box then the output from the converter to the input of the vcr then output of vcr to TV input. You will need to put the vcr on channel 3 as well as the tv. Scan for channels on the converter box and you'll be changing the channel from the box from now on. This setup will allow you to record to the vcr but only the channel that the converter is set to. You won't be able to record one show while watching another. If that's something you want to do, you'll need another converter box.
