How far can you tilt a CD drive before performance suffers?
I'm designing a custom computer case, and want to have a sloped front panel.
Rather than put the time, money, and effort into custom faces for each of my six exposed removable media drives, I plan to mount the drives so that their existing faces are flush with the slanted case.
Should I worry about performance and/or safety of my optical drives in this arrangement?
At absolute most, the drives would be tilted so that the front is 30 degrees above the back.
Most drives are designed so that you can either lay them flat, or at 90 degrees, you should not have a problem with a mild slant like 30.
