1990 magnavox projection tv help?
i have a 48 inch magnavox projection tv modle # rl8544ak04 the problem is that when i turn the tv on all i get is sound the screen does not come on is their a web page for that shows how to repair or does anyone may know the problem??
Un fortunately these tv's weren't designed for component level trouble shooting. Module boards should be available for these tv's and are very expensive and isolating the problem is not altogether easy because they are direct coupled. You are probably looking at a minimal of 350 to 500 dallars for a repair.Since the screen does not come on the problem is most likely on the high voltage board and the low supply board may have been the cause of the failure. Also in these sets bad solder connections had a bad habit of developing on thes boards as well. Hope this helps.
