I have a sony KF 50we610 TV & I need to replace the lamp, but cant seem to find where its located...?
Also how would I take the lamp out & where can I buy 1 for a low price?
Look on the right side near the bottom....see that big THUMBSCREW located behind the screeen section?
Unscrew it...
Now go to the LEFT side and you'll find one there too...Unscrew it....
Now comes the FUN PART....that whole lower panel below the screen is a COVER that covers the lamp door.
Go to the right side, grab the right edge, pull it out a little and you'll notice the top is kinda free, the bottom of that cover is KINDA hinged....
You must POP it...pop it down on one side, then pop the other side down too...then you may have to pop the center also
Of course, pulling it OUT is what releases the cover, but knowing it pops out and down is key to removing it. Do not pull down to pop it, pop it OUT....
Once you get that off, notice there are two Hingy-looking pieces of plastic on the outer edge that MUST go into their slots first before you reassemble that cover. You gotta put them in the hinge-slots and flip it closed like a door. You'll FEEL the poppers fall into their pop-holes when properly aligned, then you SMACK it to lock the poppers into place...then turn the thumbscrews to finish the job.
NOW...back to the lamp....you see that door with the same type of thumbscrew on it? It's hidden behind the cover you just removed.
Unscrew it, open the door and there's your lamp.
You need an allen wrench to loosen the bolt, and that comes with the SONY LAMP --- Part # A-1606-034-A
