I have a LCD HDTV but don't have a hdtv receiver I have Dish Network receiver but can't get channels. HELP?
The tv is a RCA. Does the coaxial cable from the dish network rec go to the digital or analog input?
What are the next steps to tune in the channels from the receiver? Does it matter that I don't have a hdtv receiver?
The RF antenna wire goes to the analog input, then set it to Channel 3 or 4 depending on what channel you had your old TV set for.
But when you get the HDTV reciever, the HD box is setup to deliver HD on HDMI or Component outputs only, not Chan 3.
BUT....IF you WANT to watch HDTV NOW....Get out your old tabletop antenna, run down to Radio Shack and pick up one of those 20 db amps (the hefty metal ones, not the cheap light ones) and an extra RF cable. Hook up the Tabletop antenna directly to the amps input and the output to the DIGITAL RF connector and then turn on your TV, select Menu, select Channels, Select Autoprogram then press autoprogram and leave the TV alone for about 20-30 minutes (yes it takes that long)
You'll have HDTV local channels and your satellite will deliver the low def channels until you get the HD Sat box....
