what is the best universal remote that works on a dtv converter box?
i just bought a new dtv converter box and its all set up but the remote that came with dosent work on my tv so they say to buy a universal remote that also works with the dtv box , it also has to be at radio shack because its closer to my house.
If its the white remote with the black back it probably WILL control your tv. But, you may have to scan for the right code (if your brand is not listed, or none of the codes work). Move the switch on top to TV. Hold down select $ mute until the green light above TV flashes. press 911... wait for the flash, then press 1 again. it will flash again. Now, press channel up until the tv turns off. as soon as it does, press select. This locks in the code. Im a Lead Technician for DTV & find 1 in about100 TV's that our remotes wont control.
