RCA dlp still don't work right after bulb replacement?
Ok. Here goes. I have looked and called everywhere with no help. I have a RCA dlp, hdlp50w151, that recently blew a bulb. I have replaced the bulb with a orsam bulb with housing. The tv now turns on like normal with audio at first then the picture starts to brighten. It is at that point that when it is fully on the picture shuts off and the power light blinks five times. Then repeats the cycle over and over again. FYI the color wheel was replaced a year ago and I have tried reseating the bulb housing numerous times with the same outcome.
My questions to you would be this: is it still possible that although the bulb lights it still just may be a bad bulb? And how can I tell if it is the power supply or ballast with no signs of bad capacitors or anything?
The tv worked perfect up until the bulb went. I am having a hard time believing that other parts would have went out at the same time.

Since the bulb strikes and lights my first assumption would be a bad power supply or capacitors. These RCA units have had some known power supply issues in the past.
That's a tough question and spot to be in. There is a possibility that you got a bad bulb. I've had DLP projectors and have gotten bad bulbs that light but then shut down the projector. If you can find ANY way to get your hands on a used, cheap bulb to try out, then do it.
Otherwise, I'm leaning slightly towards a bad power supply.
