Replacing Laptop inverter board/blacklight for the second time worth it?
I was recently quoted $119 for labor and parts to replace the FL inverter board on my Toshiba Satellite. I This is the second time I've had this issue (except the first time it was under warranty) and I know now that its a notorious problem with this brand and type of computer. I was wondering if it would be worth it to pay to get it back in working order or to just go ahead and upgrade to a new one.
This is the only major problem I've had with it, other than some issues with Windows Vista. Its four years old this month and what I'm worried about is paying to have it fixed only to have it die again in a short time.
Opinions are appreciated, thanks
.
If it was me I would put the $119 towards a new one, you state that this is the second time it has happened and that it was under warranty, how long before this happened the first time, less than 12 months say, and how long before it happened again, this should give you an idea how long it will last if you get it fixed, before it happens again, is it worth it?
Hope this helps Dave.
