Where can I donate stuffed animals, vases, other weird stuff?
OK, this is kind of an odd question. I'm moving this weekend from a 3 bdrm house to a 1 bdrm apt. and I'm trying to get rid of a bunch of junk. I was told by a friend that some places will take glass vases, furniture, Stuffed animals, etc, but I hate the idea of running all over Texas trying to give these different things away. I don't wanna toss any of it either. I was curious if anyone (espcially Dallasites) might know where I can get rid of all of this stuff? Perhaps a website or pick up service. I looked at Salvation Army and they want digital photos of all donations prior to pick up! Gimme a break! I don't have time for that! Any ideas?
I just found this on the web when I was looking up the Purple Heart Charity:
The Houston Charity Center
Honors and Helps our Local Veterans
If you are a veteran in need of food, clothing or household essentials due to a medical or financial crisis - contact the Houston Charity Center today. We are here to help! Call 832-487-8618 for assistance.
I bet they can direct you to a local branch of their charity (or a sister charity) and they, in turn, should offer a pick-up service from other locations. We have Purple Heart and The Kidney Foundation scattered all over, here in Michigan.
I also found this:
